Oxford Intelligence has published a new research study focusing on the future of international investment trends in location selection for international shared service centres and international customer contact centres, servicing the European market place.

The new report - International Shared Service Centres and Contact Centres - has been produced in association with IBM-Plant Location International (IBM-PLI), a specialised service within IBM Global Business Services dedicated to global corporate location strategies.

In the past decade, IBM-PLI has built up unrivalled expertise in global shared services network strategies, having advised over 200 shared services establishments. IBM-PLI has been trendsetting in location choices for shared services, identifying new opportunities for shared services in unexplored locations which later on developed into “hot-spots” for similar operations. In order to keep track of global trends in shared services location strategies, IBM-PLI maintains an internal SSC Monitor, which currently contains over 1,200 shared services worldwide, and which allows indepth analysis on locations that have been successful in attracting SSCs, the size and scope of these centres, their key business functions and markets served, etc.

This new study looks at international shared service centres and contact centres, focusing on multi-country service centres that represent mobile FDI investment projects. Separate benchmarking models focus on international shared services centres (Financial and IT) and international contact centres.

The report incorporates an independent benchmarking analysis of key European locations in Western Europe, Central and Eastern Europe and Offshore locations in India, the Far East, Africa and Latin America. It provides detailed industry analysis, key future trends and essential competitor intelligence.
